The Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and Enterprise Architect (EA) role is responsible for establishing digital strategies in partnership with the Digital Technology (DT) Business Relationship Manager (BRM) and SBU executive leadership to accelerate digital transformation within the business. This is a highly strategic role in the Collins DT organization and collaborates extensively with all areas of DT, the SBU, and RTX Enterprise and Digital Services.

This individual can sit at any Collins domestic location or remote.

Primary Responsibilities:

Familiarity with Collins Aerospace Avionics Strategic Business Unit (SBU), avionics industry and portfolio (i.e., flight deck avionics, aircraft sensors, fire, and protections systems)

Ability to promote and deliver DT services for the business to be successful in efforts such as Data Enablement, Connected Factory, Product Lifecycle, and Digital Engineering

Ability to serve as a technical consultant to the business for all domains of DT and Enterprise Architecture to enable new strategic initiatives

Ability to establish, enhance, and maintain strategic relationships with appropriate levels of executives, other key business partners, and DT stakeholders

Ability to create, sustain, and evolve architectural designs within a proven framework while ensuring strategic alignment to Collins’ business strategy

Capable of applying broad and deep technical knowledge to enable SBU pursuit teams to compete for new revenue on programs with digital content

Capable of delivering subject matter expertise across the DT portfolio to each business to enable new digital solutions across the SBU

Ability to manage internal business stakeholder expectations with respect to DT services, identify gaps between business partner needs and DT capabilities, and work to find innovative solutions that meet business objectives

Ability to create new and innovative solutions that best align with the SBU Design Approach Reviews, Digital Business Strategies, and Roadmaps

Capable of acting as a digital thought leader and architecture evangelist

Ability to analyze industry, market and technology trends and forecast impacts on the enterprise strategy 

Ability to create and align architecture roadmaps to DT and Enterprise strategies

Possess a consultative background with the ability to listen and diagnose customer challenges

Possess problem-solving skills combined with cost sensitivity

Possess a passion for architectural understanding and alignment with the ability to influence and obtain buy-in for the solutions internally

Basic Qualifications:

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience

Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Broad technical experience in Systems/Digital Engineering and/or Business/Infrastructure/Application Architecture and Integration and/or Cybersecurity and/or Data Sciences

Deep understanding of Digital Transformation, Product Development and Product Lifecycle

Proven experience generating and validating system architectures and SoS integration approaches

Preferred Qualifications:

Current DoD Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance

Advanced Degree (i.e., M.S., Ph.D.) or domain experience in any of the key technology space capabilities (i.e., cybersecurity, AI / ML, Data Analytics)

Operationalized Agile Software Development understanding / practices

DevOps (including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery)

Ability to assist in strategic planning of new technologies and opportunity pipeline

Proven presentation and communication (written and oral) skills; able to communicate complex concepts to a diverse audience of senior business leaders and customers

Experience supporting diverse businesses and geographies

Demonstrated track record of leading highly collaborative, flexible, and productive cross-functional teams

Highly skilled in process analysis, design, and improvement initiatives

Proven experience in mentoring junior associates in developing customer-facing skills

The salary range for this role is 139,000 USD – 277,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
