Responsibilities:
As Associate Director (f/m/d), General Legal, you
provide legal advice and services to all Business Units of Collins on all legal matters across Germany and potentially the EMEA region, including the Middle East and other jurisdictions as and when required
represent the organization to customers, suppliers, peers and government agencies
provide resolution of business or technical issues by identifying legal solutions and recommending a course of action
examine legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuits and representing the best interest of the company
complete legal reviews of company documents, policies and procedures
offer pro-active and solution orientated general legal advice and may offer specific advice depending on any specialization
own the execution of long-term strategy (e.g., more than 3 years) and operational direction, typically for an entire region, country, product or business of considerable size and scope. or, own the establishment and execution of short- to medium-term operational plans (e.g., less than 1 year to 1-2 years) for the organization
perform a variety of more complex or specialized legal activities in accordance with the established standards of the legal profession to protect the organization’s reputation and business interests and help ensure it complies with all relevant laws and regulations
manage relations and work with external counsel to direct activities
advise clients concerning business transactions, liability claims, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, legal rights and obligations or other niche areas such as employment, government contracts and export
oversee the interpretation of laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Basic Qualifications/Preferred Experience:
As Associate Director (f/m/d), General Legal, you
are a fully qualified German lawyer (“Volljurist*in”) with two state examinations and 8 years of relevant experience
may be specialized in general law, litigation, commercial, government, employment law, M&A, anti-trust, environmental, real estate, corporate, or agreements and licenses
have prior experience of German defense contacting and/or aerospace industry preferred
are experienced in performing legal activities to ensure that the company complies with and understand the relevant laws
require ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.
have written and spoken English language skills at C1 level or above
bring strong organizational skills
are enthusiastic about analyzing and solving problems
are happy to travel from time to time
