Collins Simulation Training Solutions (STS) is looking for an experienced DevSecOps Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CICD) Engineer to help design, develop, integrate, and deploy advanced capabilities in a DevSecOps environment. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of cutting-edge technologies, independently as well as collaboratively. (STS) develops and builds simulators and training systems for both military and commercial customers. Devices range in complexity from desktop trainers to high-fidelity weapon systems and full-flight training systems. This position is located onsite at our Sterling, VA site.

**Signing bonuses up to $30,000 are available for active security clearance holders.**

Primary Responsibilities: 

Support and develop automation solutions that enable our teams to build and deploy code efficiently and consistently 

Maintain program’s CICD pipeline 

Guide teams in designing, building, testing, and deploying changes to existing software 

Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving issues with build chain/CICD pipeline tools 

Improve the program’s CICD pipeline infrastructure and security posture, and experience with GitLab CI/CD are a bonus, as well as prior DevOps experience with Jira, Coverity, Nexus, Artifactory, Ansible, Splunk or comparable substitutes 

Identify manual processes that can be automated with recommendations for strategy and improvements, prior experience with automated testing as part of a CICD pipeline 

Consider the organization’s entire CICD infrastructure when making changes and improvements 

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR

Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR

In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.

Must be a US Citizen.

Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Experience with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript 

Experience with server-side scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Powershell 

Experience in continuous integration skills for real-time testing and diagnostics within a cloud environment 

Experience in application development and integration within one or more cloud platform services such as (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud.) 

Experience in application development and integration within one or more IaaS/PaaS (VMware / Redhat Openshift / OpenStack) 

Preferred Qualification: 

Experience with Multi-threading applications 

Experience in Socket programming  

Microservices using restful APIs 

Specific knowledge with JavaScript frameworks such as Java script, ReactJS, NodeJS, C#, HTML 5 programming languages 

Agile/Scrum experience preferred 

Familiarity with database technology such as SQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB, PostGreSQL and MonetDB 

Familiarity with JSON, XML and XSD formats, rules and usages 

Experience in working in Linux and Windows environments 

Experience and/or interest in refactoring legacy systems for cloud
