Principal Systems engineer position working on embedded Communications programs will include development test and integration strategies to support the development of Software Defined Radio (SDR) products for space. This position is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
This position will include expert skills in requirements definition, detailed design, integration and qualification phases for radio’s designed for space. This position requires working with customers and internal development teams to demonstrate and provide verification of system implementation.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be able to foster collaboration between the embedded applications and the operating environment development teams; possess good communication and diplomacy skills for interfacing with the customer; possess personal leadership qualities; and willingly performs a broad array of tasks from hardware/software and systems development activities and provide analysis in software/systems architecture design. The successful candidate is able to provide technical presentation and demonstration to end customers.
Candidate is expected to be able to demonstrate communication skills and an ability/desire to work in a team environment, establish working relationships with peers and co-workers. The candidate must be adaptable to change, determined to accomplish tasks based on program schedule, and contribute to a positive work environment. They consistently produce exemplary results on the projects and teams they collaborate with.
Basic Qualifications:
Systems of Systems design and development
Embedded systems experience and SOC
Experience with test and integration of complex software
Must have an active final Secret Security Clearance
Knowledge of Hardware design concepts
DOORS
Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience OR
In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
Must be capable to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.
U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements.
