Systems Architect, Mid

Key Role:

Develops innovative solutions to complex problems. Develops a multi-tenant development integration laboratory. Applies advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise, including full industry knowledge. Works without considerable direction, mentors and may supervise team members.

Basic Qualifications:

5+ years of experience with supporting production environments

2+ years of experience with scripting languages to automate tasks, including Bash, Python, or PowerShell

2+ years of experience supporting multi-tenant networking

Experience with designing high availability and resiliency architectures, including failover, clustering, disaster recovery, and site reliability engineering

Experience with handling and deploying physical compute and networking hardware

Knowledge of networking concepts and networking infrastructure deployments

Ability to generate test plans, security procedures, and user behaviors

Ability to independently research system failures and respond appropriately

Ability to obtain a security clearance

Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

Experience with Type 1 virtualization architectures, including VMWare, Citrix XenServer, and Hyper-V

Experience with Infrastructure as Code

Experience with network proxies, including NGINX, Squid, and OPNSense

Experience with application, network, and infrastructure performance monitoring and analysis

Experience with creating or optimizing deployment or support processes for Cloud-based environments on multiple security domains

Knowledge of secure systems development practices, including principle of least privilege, secrets management including certificate authorities, and artifact management

Knowledge of Cybersecurity concepts, including threats, vulnerabilities, security operations, encryption, boundary defense, auditing, authentication, and supply chain risk management

Knowledge of secure configuration guidelines, including DoD STIGs and CIS benchmarks

Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies

AWS SysOps Administrator, Developer, or Architect certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $52,100 to $118,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
