Social Media Specialist

Key Role:

Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team by creating and sustaining a positive public image for the client. Prepare and maintain the client’s strategic communications plan. Collect and analyze social media data and analytics to recommend future direction and content to the client. Collaborate with the client and other team members to contribute to online discussion forums and answer requests for information and materials to support leadership briefings and outreach. Craft articles for publication in print and social media programs to inform a broad range of stakeholders and increase general awareness of the client’s initiatives and goals. Participate in internal and external meetings to develop future plans and inform the client. This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working at a Booz Allen office or client site and working remotely.

Basic Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in a professional work environment
3+ years of experience with public relations, public affairs, or social media management and the use of social media sites
Experience with using Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and Microsoft Word templates
Ability to organize and write compelling, concise articles and web-related materials
Ability to communicate key client messages confidently and precisely with senior government officials
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

5+ years of experience with training in the Operational Army or training development in the Institutional Army
Experience as a technical editor
Knowledge of writing styles including AP and Army
Knowledge of The TRADOC Doctrine Publication Program
Knowledge of social media and professional military forums and DoD and Army Social Media policies
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as member of a larger team to fulfill client requirements
Possession of excellent interpersonal skills
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Communications

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $52,100.00 to $119,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
