Radio Frequency Antenna Engineer
The Opportunity:
As a Radio Frequency Antenna Engineer, you understand the workings behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to developing high power RF systems that can propagate the appropriate energy specifications. We’re looking for an engineer who can use their skills to help conceptualize and build prototype and developmental capabilities and systems for our DoD clients.
At Booz Allen, you’ll use your engineering skills to transform the Department of Defense (DoD), specifically Directed Energy initiatives. Our team designs, develops, and integrates high power microwave and RF systems to aid in our warfighters defense posture in various theaters of operation. That’s why we need you, an RF Antenna engineer who specializes in research and development (R&D) to help us design and develop Directed Energy capabilities.
On our team, you’ll conduct research on state of the art, evaluate and analyze COTS and GOTS equipment, and consider integration potential into other subsystems. You’ll impact DoD, and specifically the US Navy by developing prototype systems and developing experiments to ascertain functionality and performance. This is a chance to use your antenna knowledge skills while gaining experience in R&D, rapid prototyping, and test and evaluation of novel systems and architectures. You Have:
5 years of experience in researching, analyzing, designing, or fabricating novel antenna systems through the application of state-of-the-art modeling and simulation tools and advanced prototyping techniques
3 years of experience in theoretical or experimental evaluations and verifications of antenna system performance
Experience with performing modeling and simulation in tools such as, COMSOL and CST
Knowledge of techniques and solutions that can be applied to improve size, weight, and power such as SWaP
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
Nice If You Have:
Experience in a Research, Development, Test, & Evaluation (RDT&E) environment including in industry, academia, or government
Knowledge of high-power RF or microwaves
Knowledge of near-field antennas and electromagnetics
Knowledge of a wide array of antenna types such as slotted waveguides and helical
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplined technical team
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Electrical Engineering or Physics
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
