Machinist, Mid
Key Role:
Work on the assembly and fabrication of electrical, electronic, or mechanical components or equipment. Perform operations on mechanical machinery, calibration equipment, power tools and electronic tooling. Comprehend the role and apply knowledge of program and project requirements, policies, and procedures. Perform moderately difficult support tasks with minimal supervision and follow general instruction.
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of experience with machining and operating CNC mills and lathes in a fabrication environment
Knowledge of programming in computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software and machining and fabrication principles
Ability to set up and operate CNC machinery
Ability to set up and operate manual machine shop equipment, including lathe, milling machines, and drill and tap machines
Ability to inspect and verify all product by using standard inspection equipment and techniques
Ability to pay strict attention to detail in a manufacturing environment
Ability to review engineering drawings for completeness and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Ability to obtain a security clearance
HS diploma or GED
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with inspection techniques and identification of non-conformance features
Experience with the use of CAM software and the application to CNC machines
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
Machine Tool Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $49,900.00 to $102,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
