Java Developer

We’re looking for a developer with the advanced skills needed to build transformative applications from vision to production-ready system. This role is more than just coding, we need a full-stack developer who will use their passion to learn new tools and techniques, identify and implement system improvements, and mentor teammates. On our team, you’ll help customers overcome their most difficult challenges using the latest architectural approaches such as microservices, domain driven design, and n-tier. Using Java technologies and Agile lifecycle development, you’ll build and sustain vital applications for the Veterans Administration. You’ll analyze the needs and the environment to make sure the solution you’re developing considers the architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.?

You Have:
5+ years of experience as a Java software developer or software engineer
Experience with GitHub, Tomcat, Java, JMS, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and XML
Experience using JIRA and Confluence and leveraging source control
Experience with CI/CD tools, including DevOps
Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications
Knowledge of the Linux operating system
Knowledge of deploying Java application within containers
Knowledge of SQL databases and interfacing Java applications to SQL databases
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
Nice If You Have:
Experience in the Federal Government, Veterans Affairs, or Healthcare IT sectors
Experience with Tomcat 2.4x, JDK – Oracle Java Standard edition, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
Experience testing applications locally within containers
Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
Knowledge of HyperScience
Knowledge of architecture styles and APIs, including SOAP, REST, or RPC
Knowledge of 508 compliance requirements and Agile frameworks
SAFe Certification

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is outlined below.
Colorado: $91,400 – $186,700 (annualized USD)
New York (including New York City): $96,000 – $220,600 (annualized USD)
