Flight Test Engineer
The Opportunity:
As an aerospace flight test engineer, you know leading-edge flight test programs are critical to national defense. At Booz Allen, you can use your engineering expertise to develop next-generation defense tools and technology. We need your skills and expertise in testing operational systems on airplanes and in simulation environments to develop creative solutions that directly impact the warfighter.
As an aerospace flight test engineer on our research and development team, you’ll provide expertise in evaluating new technologies, performing risk assessments, and improving the design of aerospace or maritime systems. Your experience in developing and executing test plans for operational systems deployed on airframes is key and makes you an integral part of delivering a client-focused solution.
In this role, you’ll contribute to the direction of mission-critical solutions by evaluating, improving, and designing leading-edge aerospace and naval technology. You’ll work with a large community of aerospace and naval engineers across the firm and collaborate with engineers, aviators, and aviation experts to deliver world-class solutions to evaluate new technologies for application in new, leading edge, offensive weapons systems. Your engineering knowledge will help the U.S. Air Force and Joint DoD agencies to expand and improve their capabilities to protect national security and the warfighter.

You Have:
5+ years of experience in an engineering or technical role
2+ years of experience with flight test programs, including developmental or operational testing
Experience with technical project management
Experience with Microsoft Office, including user-level spreadsheet programs and relational databases, such as Microsoft Excel and Access
Ability to write and maintain technical documents, including test plans and test reports
Ability to work effectively with developers, customers, and leadership
Top Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Science field
Nice If You Have:
Experience in, or coordinating with, DoD aviation acquisition Program Offices
Experience as a Pilot or with Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA)
TS/SCI clearance
Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
