Action Officer

The Challenge:

That is why we need you, an experienced Action Officer who can analyze every aspect of your customer’s operations and provide high-quality mission support.

As part of our team, you’ll serve as a strategic Action Officer to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), helping oversee the creation and execution of advanced government-funded research and development programs in microelectronics.

As an Action Officer, you will be responsible for managing incoming requirements, ensuring that the task guidance is clear, communicating to the team responsible for completing the task, and tracking metrics. You will also be readily available to shift your focus to fulfill emerging client requests. Your attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, understanding of the client mission, and problem solving will enable the mission’s success.

You’ll work closely with a high-performing, fast-paced team to support government Program Manager clients. You will lead tasks in a variety of areas, including tracking important milestones or actions, prioritizing work by considering its risk, importance, urgency, and potential business, organizational, and client implications, interacting with clients, government officials, and other executives in various sectors, drafting, writing, and editing reports, briefs, correspondence, and other documents, and liaising and coordinating meetings with key internal and external stakeholders.This is a chance to broaden your experience in R&D while making an impact with your consulting expertise.

You Have:

Experience in interacting and communicating with senior level executives, including SES or GS-15
Experience with using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience in working with technical staff or engineers
Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
Ability to manage a team and delegate tasks appropriately
Ability to manage multiple short and long-term projects effectively
Ability to identify and manage client expectations, develop clear objectives and deadlines, and communicate taskers on behalf of agency leadership
Ability to pay strict attention to detail and be diligent with deadlines and deliverables
Top Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

Experience with working in the front office in a government R&D environment
Experience with the military or DoD
Experience with supporting a DoD front office
Experience with project management
Possession of excellent spelling, grammar, and organizational skills
Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
TS/SCI clearance
Master’s degree in an engineering or scientific field

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $52,100.00 to $119,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
