Job DescriptionFull-time onsite: Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 1% of the time.We are seeking a skilled Software Developer for our Fort Wayne Indiana South Location. The selected individual will work on our Planning team supporting several businesses within production, and will also have the ability to grow their role to focus on processes and Lean Manufacturing, if desired. The ideal candidate needs to be strong with analytical problem solving, and ensuring creative systemic actions are implemented to continuously improve. In addition the selected individual must be comfortable and capable of directly working with shop floor personnel who will be utilizing tools created. If you have a passion for creatively solving problems, and building data tools/applications to eliminate waste and increase efficiencies, this job is made for you!Duties and responsibilities include the following:Analyze new and existing business systems to determine proper software & data solutionsCreate new, proficient applications that solve business issuesImplement modifications to existing applications to fix errors, improve performance, and upgrade interfacesCoordinate with business and technology teams to ascertain system requirements, such as program functions, input/output requirements, data acquisition, and system controlsWork collaboratively with customers to ensure business needs are metTo be successful in this role, the selected individual will need extensive knowledge of programming languages and the software development life-cycle.Required Education, Experience, & SkillsBachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or technical equivalent (i.e. Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, or similar)Experience working with SQL and procedural SQL (PL/SQL, T-SQL, etc)Knowledge of web design concepts, such as HTML, CSS, jQuery, AJAX, JavaScriptMust excel at solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, designing and implementing solutions to complex technical issues.Preferred Education, Experience, & SkillsCertifications in Oracle DB SQL, Microsoft SQL ServerExperience with Oracle Apex and Oracle ERP / E-Business SuiteExperience working with Microsoft Server, UNIX/LINUX, SolarisExperience with git version control (gitlab, github, bitbucket)Exposure to Industry 4. conceptsAbout BAE Systems Electronic SystemsBAE Systems, Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of BAE Systems plc, an international defense, aerospace and security company which delivers a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions and customer support services.
