UH-1/UH-60 Journey A&P Mechanic (Metro)
The Journeyman Technician assigned to maintain the Sacramento County Fire District’s rotorcraft shall meet the following minimum qualifications:
Posses a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License
Posses a valid Class-C California drivers license or comparable from another state.
Have five (5) years experience as a Journey level certified A&P technician performing rotorcraft inspection and maintenance, with not less than one (1) year of experience specifically performing inspection/maintenance on Bell UH-1H and/or Sikorsky UH-60 rotorcraft or similar variant models. At the District’s discretion, military experience may qualify for the five (5) year entry level requirement if the level of work and responsibility was equivalent to that of a certified A&P technician.
The Journeyman Technician shall have knowledge of:
FAA regulations pertaining to the maintenance and repair of rotorcraft.
FAA approved maintenance practices, techniques, and procedures.
Rotorcraft shop maintenance operational procedures.
Rotorcraft structures, systems, controls, engines and components.
The Journeyman Technician shall be responsible for and posses the ability to:
Work independently in a central aviation maintenance facility or work unsupervised off-site at outlying field locations.
Perform depot and field level maintenance to rotorcraft, engines, rotors, components and systems IAW approved procedures.
Independently inspect and repair rotorcraft, engines, rotors, components and systems to assess for damage, condition and method of repair.
Inspect rotorcraft, determine problems, and correct deficiencies.
Inspect rotorcraft and systems for continued airworthiness.
Return rotorcraft to service after major and minor maintenance/repair.
