Description:
Perform test flights to measure and demonstrate aircraft proficiency upon completion of aircraft maintenance or modification on the aircraft.
Essential
Responsibilities:
Assist RSNF designated FCF Pilots with all portions of maintenance functional check flights, including preflight briefing, preflight, flight checks, post flight and all required FCF documentation.
Coordinate with maintenance contractors for in-flight troubleshooting discrepancies, and verifications of maintenance actions or repairs, by conducting ground and flight checks.
Guide and assist in managing an approved H-60 Flight Operations Program in compliance with Navy flight manuals, instructions, directives, SOP’s, and local directives.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Pilot and navigate the flight for the H-60 helicopter.
Designation as a Helicopter Aircraft Commander (HAC) .
Past designation as a H-60 Functional/Maintenance Check Pilot is required; current designation is desired. Current or previous designation as an instructor is desired.
Able to perform all duties independently. A minimum of 550 total flight hours, 50 Helicopter Aircraft Commander (HAC) hours in the H-60, and 100 hours of H-60 FCF/Maintenance test fly is required.
A Secret security clearance is required.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Must pass an aeronautical/flight physical. Required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch.
