We are seeking a BMS Technician team member for our client site in Groton, CT.

The successful candidate will have outstanding maintenance skills and will be committed to working with others to deliver best in class, unparalleled excellence in customer service and satisfaction.  


Typical work hours are 7: 00am – 3: 30pm; hours may vary based on the requirements of critical business demand.

Hiring hourly range: $38-44/hr (hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data) .

As the BMS Technician, your daily duties for this role will include:

Collaborating with specialized technicians or subcontractors, site management, and control room operators to understand requirements and solve complex monitoring and control problems.

Monitoring, adjusting, troubleshooting, and servicing all aspects of the building automation systems in a large-scale multi-purpose complex.  

Combining computer programming, electrical controls, and steam/condensate knowledge to understand a buildings sequence of operation.

Enabling visibility and controlling of electronic/pneumatic devices through Siemens and Honeywell software/programs that balance air handlers, exhaust fans, and chilled water systems in office space or in a variable temperature and humidity conditioned research space.

Controlling, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing BMS related mechanical equipment such as HVAC, process utilities, steam, chilled water, reheat water, and lighting.

Performing performative maintenance, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation, equipment, and controls for optimum performance through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) .

Assisting in the change control process for requests to modify the current control set up.

Monitoring controller CPUs, proprietary communications bus (CBUS) , BNAs (Building network Adapter) , and the server Cat 6 cabling to the field devices.

Solving and assisting procurement of spare parts.

Following site operations procedures for equipment and recommending facility reliability improvements.

Developing and maintaining good working relationships with other technicians for effective troubleshooting and repairing of equipment and systems.

Utilizing strong mechanical skills to complete assignments.

Providing service and feedback to the customer on work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Understanding company policies and complying with safety regulations, job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) .

Maintaining a daily schedule with mixed flexibility.

Performing other duties as assigned by Management or Lead.

As the BMS Technician, you will be expected to:

Minimum Requirements

High school or trade school diploma in a related discipline and 6 years of experience as a BMS/BAS technician or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a multi-purpose facility.

Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.

Ability to understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen and through the CMMS.

Ability to obtain an appropriate driver’s license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.

Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident.

This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

Some physical/special requirements include:  

Regularly lift to 50 lbs 

Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding 

Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement 

Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift 

Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions 

Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding 

Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.  

Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.  

Pfizer Site Requirement:


All employees and contractors working at a Pfizer site must be fully vaccinated against covid-19 by November 15, 2021, unless there is an approved medical or religious exemption. “Fully vaccinated” is defined as receiving the full dose therapy of an EUA approved covid-19 vaccine and being 14 days post the completion of the required dose regimen.

Preferred Qualifications

Associates degree in Instrument Controls Technology.

CT E1, E2, S2 license.

Knowledge of 0-10, 2-10, and 4-20 milliamp loops.

Experience with multi-meters.

Experience utilizing a CMMS.
