GIS/Geospatial Specialist
As DoD’s CWMD coordinating authority and mission advocate, the SOCOM J10 provides department-wide situational awareness of CWMD issues; provides recommendations to shape priorities, inform policy, enhance activities, and identify gaps and seams for capability/resource allocation to further campaign objectivities for DoD; facilitate coordination between DoD and our interagency and intelligence community partners through OSD and the Joint Staff; and integrate international allies and partners into CWMD planning efforts with and through the GCCs. The Contractor shall provide support including:
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide systems engineering for all technologies in support of GEOINT data collection, processing, production, archiving, maintenance and dissemination.
Support maintenance and enhancement of the SPPN domain and interface and accreditation within the SIE.
Conduct hardware and software testing and user assessment of emerging tools and applications that may be used within the SPPN to enhance SOFPREP systems engineering and technology management process.
Conduct GEOINT Management Information System (G-MIS) .
Research, acquire, consolidate and disseminate GEOINT source data and products: elevation, feature, maps, imagery and intelligence source data.
Input, file, store, archive and retrieve GEOINT source data, data sets and SVDs through the G-MIS user interface.
Support maintenance of the GEOINT archive system, dissemination of geospatial data and products, management of the GEOINT archive baseline for annual inventory and configuration, and conduct software test and user assessment of emerging GEOINT data management tools and applications that may be used to enhance the SOFPREP data management workflow process.
Perform geospatial data analysis and creation of various maps and other visualizations for incorporation into reports and or presentations to respond to taskings and RFis from a variety of parties.
Design Geo-Spatial products (e. g. , map layers, vector graphics, geodatabases, etc. ) that capture relevant information related to the CWMD issues and regions of concern.
Shall identify specific data feeds and information sources that may pertain to threat, allied, and U. S events and provide additional Geo-Spatial situational awareness. Information identified within the Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) , will be leveraged and revised, if needed, to aid in the development of Geo-Spatial products.
Required Qualifications
2 years of WMD oriented GEOINT-specialized analytic experience.
1 years’ experience developing and producing WMD Master Site Lists and depictions of enemy WMD facilities/key venues/activities at the operational level
3 years’ experience using GIS and database software, which may include, but is not limited to ESRI, GoogleEarth, ARC GIS.
Must hold TS/SCI Clearance eligibility
