Responsibilities
The National Security Agency’s (NSA) Gifted and Talented (G&T) Language Program is only open to high school seniors. The program is designed for high school students who have demonstrated an aptitude for Language in Chinese and/or Russian. This program provides a tremendous opportunity to gain valuable experience in Foreign Language. This is a paid 12 week internship at NSA Washington in Fort Meade, Maryland that runs from mid-May to mid-August following high school graduation.

Job Summary
The National Security Agency’s (NSA) Gifted and Talented (G&T) Language Program is only open to high school seniors. The program is designed for high school students who have demonstrated an aptitude for Language in Chinese and/or Russian. This program provides a tremendous opportunity to gain valuable experience in Foreign Language. This is a paid 12 week internship that runs from mid-May to mid-August following high school graduation.

Qualifications
– Must be a U.S. citizen
– Must be eligible to be granted a security clearance
– Must be a high school senior who will have completed an AP Language course, in Chinese and/or Russian (or proctored examination results demonstrating equivalent) by completion of their senior year.
– Unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher is preferred
– Must have scored at least 1200 on the SAT or 25 on the ACT
– Must be at least 16 years of age at the time of hire
– Plan to pursue language studies after graduation

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Salaries for all Gifted and Talented (G&T) students are set at a GG 02/01.

Receive annual leave, sick leave and paid federal holidays.

Participation in agency-wide extracurricular programs.

If accepted into the program students are to work full time 40 hours per week for 10 – 12 weeks during the summer months following their senior year of high school from mid-May to mid-August.

Applicants interested in the Gifted & Talented (G&T) program must reside within commuting distance of the duty station for which they are applying. Travel and Housing reimbursements are not provided.
