TechExpoUSA Job Fair, 19 May
(Time 00:25) … Do YOU have a Top Secret security clearance with a polygraph? TechExpoUSA is sponsoring a virtual recruiting event on Thursday, May 19th from noon East Coast USA time through 4pm that day. You will need a polygraph listed on your resume to participate.
…… Some of the employers that you will meet include AT&T, Boeing, L3Harris, LEIDOS, Oracle, the US National Reconnaissance Office, aka NRO, and twice as many others than already named.
…… If time and schedule make it difficult to participate then register anyway and employers will get your resume.

Resume Design Advice
(Time 1:00) … Let’s talk quickly about your resume and including a location in your contact info. A recent trend is that professionals are leaving off a location in their contact information. This really, REALLY works against you. When a recruiter searches for a resume they often look for Skill X and Y within X miles from a location.
…… If your resume has no location in the contact field then your resume often shows up last or not at all in the search results.
…… No, no, NO, you do not have to list the actual location where you live. Your address is irrelevant … just pick a geographic location central to the region you are willing to work within.

Security Clearances and Public Trust
(Time 2:50) … Let’s talk about security clearances. Getting one is not easy and takes plenty of time. Sometimes it takes months. If you are a professional without a security clearance and are looking to break into the cleared marketplace, then search for jobs requiring a Public Trust.
…… Public Trust jobs pay quite well and many Public Trust employers can sponsor you for a higher clearance. The fastest way to identify these jobs is to go to your favorite jobs website and enter Public Trust as part of your keyword search criteria.
